MINISTRIES AT FIRST METHODIST
United Methodists Making a Difference! Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God,
that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. But do not forget to do good and to share,

Children's and Youth Ministries
BFUMC Youth Fellowship for middle school & high school is a very active group. They gather each Sunday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. Age-appropriate Sunday School classes are provided for our children & youth. Annual activities include Vacation Bible School, Choir Camp, Retreats and Confirmation Classes. Several mission opportunities are planned each year. ![]() ![]() Happy Hearts Ministry
Team Leader is Penny Groves Our mature adults meet at noon on the third Tuesday of every month (Sept thru June) for a luncheon. They also have a devotional and a program. Occasional day trips are taken and these seniors eagerly help with community outreach projects.
![]() Mission Team Team Leader is Mary Marshall church@fumcbiloxi.org First Church is known throughout the community as a church who cares about the needs of others. The local missions are Back Bay Mission, Biloxi Church Cooperative Ministry, Loaves and Fishes and Women's Center for Non-Violence. In addition, the church supports Foreign Missions, both directly and through the United Methodist Church. Our missions teams have served in Wilmington, NC and Cedar Rapids, IA.
November 1-6, 2009 we'll be sending a mission team to Mount Eagle Retreat Center in Clinton, AR to assist with their ongoing recovery from a January ice storm. If you'd like to work out doors and would enjoy beautiful Ozark Mountain fall color this might be the mission trip you should go on. Contact us via email or call the church office for details.
Church Pianist - Renee Campbell
Handbell practice is on Wednesday evenings at 5:00 p.m.
Music rehearsals for the 10:30 a.m. blended service are held on Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m.
Music rehearsals for the new Orchestral Ensemble are on Wednesdays at 7:15 p.m.
![]() The purpose of this team is to visit shut-ins, provide food for families at the death of a church member, and various other ministries of nurture as needs are identified.
Team Co-Leaders are Mary Marshall & Scottie Maddox
This ministry team takes their small dogs to visit patients in Hospice care, nursing homes and rehabilitation facilities. The pets bring much joy to those who no longer have their pets with them.
